If De-Cranking Happens, A Crank Is A Crank Until The Crank Is Not One

Coming up with a great idea you must “sell” to most every American before it even becomes a great idea, would be where a crank is a crank for many cranking years, decades, or… What do I do if it is only a half good idea, and someone makes it a great idea, or just “sells” my idea better than I do? Questions such as this keep me up nights. Well, at least get me up earlier than usual. Or keep me mostly awake during the day…

Do I sell such an idea by putting my finger up in the air to gauge which way the political marketing wind is blowing, or do I explain it the way I believe it must be explained to show how strong my confidence is in it? Okay. Fine. Then what if that takes decades to get to the right person? And I am gone, and the person who finds it says, “I wish I would have known about this idea earlier, or the crank was still around so he could explain it to me in more detail.” There are so many what ifs when you are writing about your “great” something at a pre-de-cranked level of known-ness.

Maybe I am missing a key element that prevents me from seeing a major flaw in my idea, and everyone else sees it straightaway. No one may understand how great the idea is because I do not get to the point when I should, or how I should. There could be a keyword or phrase that throws everyone off, like nonpartisan or near instantly. “It just cannot work like he says.” “The idea is too elaborate.” “No one is going to go for such a thing.” My writing could just suck enough, or worse, so no one is able to find the great idea part. Of course, the great part may not even be there, or anywhere.

While I would mourn giving up on my great idea just so someone else could move it over the goal line at a later time, my father long ago convinced me that there are people in your circle, organization, or community who may just have that one part of the puzzle you need. If you open up idea development to others, including those you may think, because of your prejudices, are not going to be that person, you are likely to discover the person or persons who have that vital element to put the finishing touches on your idea to truly make it great.

Devoting the rest of your life to something that may never be accepted as anything more than a crank idea is weird, and probably an unfortunate life choice. There are likely thousands of others who have self consciously thought the same things about their ideas, whose (maybe) great ideas were never seen by the “right” people, let alone had their ideas formally shot down.

Then there is the one out of a thousand cranks, who had the same questions, and died before their great ideas were accepted, and fewer yet who were still alive. Maybe that crank’s ideas were only decent, and it was only kind of worth it to think it was a great idea. Possibly their idea spurred on actual great ideas that nobody will trace back to their influences. Hmm.

I could continue with my iterations of crank worries and questions, but you understand the basic crank dilemma. Good message, wrong messenger? Or vice versa, bad and right? Both bad and wrong? So what should a current, admitted crank do to de-crank himself? My answer today is to be more straightforward, and crank up the cranking.

My great idea is an all-encompassing solution for nearly everything. Well, not everything in and of itself, yet through you, me, and others, the system can facilitate nearly everything. It is conceived as a polarized politics workaround, giving the 99% unprecedented power to countervail the force of corporations, billionaires, dark money, all politicians, monopolies, police departments, local, state, federal government, and more.

No need to change how Congress is formed, its rules, etc., or worry about gridlock, a rogue president of any ideology. Yet never again pay taxes for bloated bureaucracies. See almost every government function streamlined. Get your taxes done for free, automatically. Find a job instantly. Unlawful and unethical hiring discrimination ends since you choose the job. The employer accepts this reversed hiring process because the new system proves you have the skills to do the job.

The new system is developed, and managed by every American. It will be a quasi-governmental agency lent in perpetuity to We The People by our government, funded by us. Additional tax funding for the system will be negligible or less, because we will clean up government, and any inefficiencies through our direct involvement, or the massive influence of 200 million to hopefully near 300 million Americans. The system is protected from political football, or funding cuts.

It is people and technology. An advanced system that can do more than Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, and Google/Alphabet combined in logistics and data crunching solutions. This will make it so civic responsibilities can be facilitated to help fill local government positions and boards, to coordinate and coalesce volunteers and resources during a national emergency. It will not invade our privacy. We The People should know more about every private company than they know about us.

Watchdog capabilities are an integral part of the system to end pollution, CO2 emissions, economic crashes, corporate and government corruption. It can be instrumental in reducing crime, depopulating prisons, creating societal reentry programs, increasing non-four-year-college job training, and putting public education on an even keel of resources throughout the nation.

Political parties are not eliminated, but they are relegated to a less influential space, reducing their potential for damaging our lives. Their responsibilities are refined to a manageable number. Funding of new projects, starting wars, making treaties, launching missiles, and such will still be in their purview. However, we will watchdog them in those activities doggedly. They will not be able to jerk us around after every term or two. The very powerful will get their comeuppance. American citizens will take control of the levers of power like never before.

I continue with the details of my system via a link below, under my signature, but realize that these elements are all tied to a system we develop to guide our nation towards better outcomes for all. The rules of the system I recommend setting up is from a blinded perspective; how we would want society to run if we did not know how our lives were going to turn out.

For example, if you did not know which life below you would have:
You got to have your current life; or…
Your IQ was 20 points higher, you were very healthy, and 1,000 times wealthier; or…
You make half the money you do, were sick without any income for five years in midlife, and your IQ was 20 points lower;
What is the system of participatory government you would choose, the current or the new adjunct, workaround system I am proposing?
John Rawls called this method of decision making the veil of ignorance.

In addition, author and professor Micheal Sandel has an enhanced idea, that we could employ. It all depends on how we want to proceed, in a winner-take-all manner no matter the consequences to others, or the corruption, or do we start with a new approach? With such an overwhelming, countervailing cohort combined in the advanced system I propose, we can shift the entire pattern of life in America to a more equitable and supportive structure.

There is no socialism or capitalism in this structure, it is about a 21st century democracy. It is outside political parties; totally nonpartisan solution creating. No conflicts with our Constitution. With this new way of approaching our future, confusion ends, and our progress towards better lives really begins.

While I may be exaggerating everything with the adjectives I am using, my system concept does have the ability to change how we accomplish our individual and national goals.
