Watchdogging That Makes The World That Goes Around Come Around.

Image
Photo by   Brannon Naito   on   Unsplash . First published on Medium . . We must take the watchdog concept and process to a much greater level. No person, politician, party, or profit pursuer is immune from the influences of power. The facts are absolutely in. We all know of someone close who has failed to make the cut. If you are human, you have been tempted to take the   supposedly easier   path rather than fight the power, and even fallen short of perfection yourself. If you think your perfection is still solid, you may be less trustworthy with power than those who admit to a fall, or a fail. . Since transgressions of power will happen, with potential in every entity, our citizenship requires us to be massively more vigilant, and always strong when fighting the power is required. To accomplish this task, we need an extensively watchful, wary, skeptical eye doing the work, along with counteracting stature and influence. That solution is what I present below, b...

Guns Are Good For An America On The Brink Of Full-On Evil Banality.

Image
Photo by   Rhodi Lopez   on  Unsplash . First published on Medium . . Unless good citizens are allowed to have at least   40 guns on hand , how will criminals get all the guns they need from the glut of guns sloshed out on the street that real men create by clamoring for more and more guns?! Hold it…! What I mean is… Americans should be allowed to have as many guns as they believe will satisfy their fearful, monster-under-the-bed needs, because criminal gun runners would run out of guns if all the manufacturers weren’t oversupplying us… That still doesn’t sound right. Ummm… Give me one more chance… The right to own many guns is protected by the Constitution, which also allows people to restrict my ability to buy guns on a fear stoked whim, or have guns stolen from my bunker. Geez uh! Again! What am I saying wrong!!? Shit! . Ever notice when an argument for guns is used   it is usually meant to scare you for not having a gun, or coerce you to agree that th...

THE PRIVATE AND SOCIAL PROPERTY PARADOX

Image
This is a shortened version (with minor editing) of a similar chapter in my book, Our Democracy Requires An Update . T he private and social property paradox contributes to our schizophrenic approach to solving societal problems in the United States. Social property includes all the elements of life you have ultimate control over, or should have , as well as those provided by the government or society that do not have a direct relationship to private financial elements. Public schools, roads, freedom of speech, and bodily autonomy are examples of social property. Health insurance is what I call a crossover property in the United States, since economic elites will not allow the consensus on its social property status to be instituted. Our extremely unequal balance of both property types over time, and up until now in various ways, as to who has it and how much they have, helps explain our paradoxical situation. Race, and gender are the defining and divining factors in our detrimental d...
